What You Will Do

  • JOB SUMMARY IT Finance Investment Analyst reports to IT Finance Business Partner, accountable for the financial performance of portfolio within Global IT organisation.

IT Finance Investment Analyst will: Deliver timely, accurate financial reporting of investment expenditure within their portfolio: ensuring robust forecasts, complete, accurate understanding of performance, Assurance, risk management: manage compliance, controls over investment expenditure, Stakeholder engagement: develop, maintain good relationships with key stakeholders, Effective, timely communication: ensure all parties involved are timely and appropriately informed on relevant processes, due dates , other relevant topics with consistent, transparent, understandable communication

  • WHAT YOU WILL DO Is responsible for a sub-set of investment projects within overall Global IT investment portfolio. Supports stakeholders across multiple geographies and time zones, providing insight and challenge underpinned with complete, accurate and timely data. Delivers in accordance to policies related to industry-specific and company accounting and financial policies. Will continually look for process improvements to drive simplicity and efficiency. Is driven and dynamic with solid accounting experience with a focus on accuracy and problem solving. Is comfortable utilising existing, multiple applications to drive consistent and predictable reporting with solid hands-on experience of using SAP and other ERP systems. Experienced in developing financial models, analysis of large datasets and setting up sustainable and automated reporting in excel or other tools

Work closely with IT project managers to understand and challenge forecasts to ensure deliverability. Ensure forecast is underpinned by supporting documentation, collaborating with procurement colleagues where appropriate to ensure Purchase Orders are in place. Partner with procurement and finance teams to ensure appropriate accounting treatment of IT contracts, licenses, and vendor payments related to investments.

Ongoing monthly collaboration with IT, project management teams to ensure complete, accurate cost capture for investment spend within SAP including: cost allocation, recharge & accrual journals, other investment admin/ PO support where necessary. Analysis of investment spend to ensure capex/opex treatment is in line with Group Accounting Policy

Assist project teams & IT Finance in preparing monthly reporting of investment status including financial reports, dashboards, investment tracking metrics to key stakeholders including Delivery & Business Leads, IT Senior Leadership. Assist Project Management teams in performing monthly reconciliation of IT investment costs (both CapEx & OpEx) in SAP against project cost trackers, forecasts. Analyse variances between actuals, forecasts, budgets, provide insights on key drivers

Ensure understanding of project outcomes, timings to support IT asset capitalisation process upon investment completion, ensuring compliance with Group Accounting Policy. Leverage this understanding to support maintenance of accurate depreciation forecast

Support on-going maintenance, review/reconciliation of IT Fixed Asset Register including support of audit. Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting, company policies particularly in relation to asset existence, impairment, accounting treatment

Support project management & group finance teams in process improvement initiatives related to IT investment tracking, reporting, financial governance

Qualifications

  • REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The IT Finance Investment Analyst must have the following level of experience.

  • Qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CIMA, CPA or equivalent qualification. QBE will be considered
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial analysis, or project finance, preferably with exposure to IT or capital investment environments.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS, especially related to asset capitalisation and treatment of software costs.
  • Experience working with SAP.
  • Proficient in Excel (e.g. Pivot tables, XLOOKUP etc) & knowledge of Power BI is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with multiple stakeholders across different geographic locations.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

It is preferable that the IT Finance Investment Analyst has the following:

  • Familiarity with IT project lifecycle and technology investment planning.
  • Experience working in a large corporate environment.
