About Baba Bread:

Founded in 2023, Baba Bread is a French Artisan Bakery known for crafting authentic artisan breads, pastries, and specialty foods with quality and excellence for Salisbury Farmers Market and Piedmont Farmers Market (Concord). We are seeking a friendly and motivated counter service staff member to join our growing team as we open our first permanent location in early 2026. This role reports to the bakery manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers and provide knowledgeable, friendly service
  • Assist with packaging, labeling, and displaying bakery products
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the shop
  • Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently
  • Answer customer questions about ingredients, products, and bakery processes
  • Support daily operations as directed by the Bakery Manager
  • Frequently move flour bags or boxes weighing up to 50 pounds across the bakery

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Positive attitude and excellent customer service skills
  • Quick, efficient, and able to handle a busy food counter environment
  • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills
  • Able to follow procedures for sales, cash handling, and food safety
  • Able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time

Desired qualities:

  • Prior bakery, food service, or coffee shop experience preferred
  • Interest in local food, artisan baking, and French culture

The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Work schedule & pay:

  • Part-time to full-time, Tuesday–Saturday, depending on evolving business needs
  • Early morning shifts required
  • Competitive hourly pay, tip share, and bakery stipend
