Optomi, in partnership with our client, are seeking a Vice President, Infrastructure Operations & Services, to join their team on a direct hire basis in NYC.

The Vice President, Infrastructure Operations & Services provides strategic and technical leadership across global infrastructure, DevOps, and database operations. This role reports to the Senior Vice President, Infrastructure Operations & Services and manages a team responsible for supporting enterprise infrastructure across multiple regions.

This position combines strategic oversight with hands-on technical expertise — ideal for a leader who can balance operational excellence with innovation.
A strong background in Azure Cloud Computing and secure-by-design principles is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direction for infrastructure, DevOps, and database teams while shaping long-term technology strategy and organizational structure.
  • Serve as a hands-on technical leader capable of supporting complex escalations and guiding architecture decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery through automation, efficiency, and ITIL best practices.
  • Establish and document procedures to support scalable, reliable infrastructure operations.
  • Investigate and resolve issues within systems and services, implementing sustainable preventive measures.
  • Manage team capacity, vendor relationships, and project resourcing to meet business demands.
  • Ensure all infrastructure activities align with risk, compliance, and audit requirements.
  • Partner closely with business and technology leaders to align infrastructure strategy with organizational goals.
  • Effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing global team, fostering collaboration, inclusion, and accountability.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive technology leadership, including global team management and vendor oversight.
  • Proven success leading cloud transformation initiatives using modern Azure technologies.
  • Track record of improving IT efficiency, performance, and service quality.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage at all levels of the organization.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience with data-driven decision-making, ITIL frameworks, and portfolio analytics.
