Job Overview:

UPS is seeking a highly skilled
AI Architect
to design and implement enterprise-grade AI and conversational solutions for the
UPS eCommerce platform
. This role focuses on architecting intelligent systems that seamlessly integrate front-end, middleware, and backend services to enhance personalization, automation, and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement
    AI-driven architectures
    for conversational systems, virtual assistants, and chatbots.
  • Architect
    end-to-end integration
    across front-end, middleware, and backend of the application.
  • Define and implement
    NLP/NLU solutions
    leveraging LLMs and generative AI technologies.
  • Collaborate with development and product teams to deliver scalable AI solutions aligned with business goals.
  • Integrate AI platforms such as
    Google Dialogflow
    ,
    Microsoft Bot Framework
    , or
    Amazon Lex
    into enterprise systems.
  • Establish best practices for
    security, scalability, and performance
    of AI applications.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers to enhance
    conversational user experience
    .
  • Ensure compliance with
    Responsible AI
    , privacy, and governance frameworks.

Mandatory Skills:

AI & Conversational Architecture:

  • Proven experience architecting
    virtual assistants, chatbots, or conversational AI
    .
  • Expertise in
    NLP/NLU
    concepts such as intent recognition and entity extraction.
  • Hands-on experience with
    LLMs and generative AI
    (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Claude, Gemini).

Technical Architecture & Development:

  • Strong background in
    enterprise architecture, APIs, and microservices
    .
  • Proficiency in
    Python, , or Java
    .
  • Experience with
    real-time messaging protocols
    (WebSockets, Kafka, Pub/Sub).

Cloud & Integration:

  • Hands-on experience with
    AWS, Azure, or GCP
    .
  • Experience integrating
    third-party AI platforms
    (Dialogflow, Microsoft Bot Framework, Amazon Lex).
  • Expertise in
    API gateway/orchestration
    (Apigee, Kong, AWS API Gateway).

Security & Scalability:

  • Deep knowledge of
    OAuth2, JWT
    , and other authentication standards.
  • Experience designing
    secure, scalable AI architectures
    for enterprise use.

Collaboration & Leadership:

  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple technical and business teams.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience with
    IBM WatsonX
    suite.
  • Familiarity with
    conversational UX design
    (Voiceflow, Botmock, Rasa X).
  • Experience integrating
    voice assistants
    (Alexa, Google Assistant).
  • Understanding of
    AI analytics

  • Knowledge of
    Responsible AI
