JOB DESCRIPTION:

The postdoctoral fellow will conduct, report and present research in his/her field of study under the supervision of a faculty mentor. This is a training position and is not expected to be a permanent position.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Culture of human and bacterial cells and preparation of co-infection experiments
  • Isolation and quantification of bacterial DNA and RNA
  • Preparation of human and bacterial samples for proteomic and metabolomic analyses
  • Microfluidic organ-on-chip fabrication
  • Collaborate with wet-lab teams on organ-on-chip simulations.
  • Integrate genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics and functional assay data into biological networks.
  • Identification of biomarkers and therapeutic targets for preterm birth.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Ph.D., M.D. or Doctoral equivalent in any field. Scientific research experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in isolation and characterization of extracellular vesicles and
  • Knowledge and experience of working with organ-on-chip microfluidic devices and bioinformatics.
  • Experience with analyzing multi-omics data for developing predictive models.
  • Ability to link computational outputs with experimental insights.
  • Background in preterm birth research and feto-maternal interface biology.
  • Experience curating training datasets from literature/experiments.

SALARY:

Commensurate with experience.
