Overnight Floor Technician

Set Pay Rate: $25.74 per hourShift: 10:00pm-6:00am Required to work weekendsPerforms manual labor associated with daily cleaning and all aspects in the utilization of mechanical equipment : Buffing, Waxing, and Stripping floors.Essential General Functions:Comply with all Agency policies and procedures and follow contract specificationsComply with uniform dress code and personal hygiene standardsComply with utilization and fit testing for proper PPE use for the job taskClean all assigned areas in accordance with contract specificationsPrepare all areas before beginning the assignment by removing loose objectsEnsure all needed equipment, cleaners, wet floor signs are utilizedUse all equipment following safety precautions and in intended mannerComplete a final inspection after use of equipment and report any issues foundEmpty and clean machines after usePrepare, use, and care for equipment according to manufacturer's directionsPerform preventative maintenance check on equipment before and after useFollow all safety rules and procedures when using any equipmentMove furniture/equipment to gain access as neededMix and measure chemicals safelyUse Clorox 360 sprayers or other disinfecting hand held equipmentMaintain control of the sprayer and only in the direction of intended useRemove residual residue from oversprayRemove trash in specific areas when requiredComply with MAA's rules for the site, security and safety guidelines and Chimes Rules For The WorkplaceComply with BWI Security Procedures for unescorted access privileges to the Security Identification Display Area (SIDA)Pass and comply with all building and security requirements and proceduresEssential Floor Maintenance Functions:Sweep and mop stairwells to ensure area is clean and free of debrisStrip, seal, wax, burnish, & buff floorsUse low speed and high speed rotary floor machines and ride on floor machinesUse scrubbers, burnishers, buffers, strippers, extractors & wet vacs, vacuum cleaners, pressure washer, steamers.Essential Lift Operator Functions:Perform specific project work to involve high cleaning at the BWI Airport Complex, to include the following areas: wall items, ticket kiosks, slats and walls, signage, vents, light lenses, beams, arches, ledges, and Security Check Point itemsClean all areas responsible for from ceiling to floorHand scrub wall surfaces with a disinfectant cleaner or powder and a scrub brushKeep window sills, ledges, vertical surfaces, corners, crevices and moldings free of dustDo emergency cleaningEssential Glass Cleaning/Bright Work Functions:Maintain all glass and brightwork surfaces in accordance with the contract specifications.Clean glass panes, ledges and landingsCleans glass partitions, mirrors and other glass surfacesDry surfaces with cloth, squeegee or chamoisMaintain supplies and equipment on cartMove furniture/equipment to gain access as neededFollow all safety rules and proceduresSecondary Functions:Assist with inventoryPerform general custodial duties as neededKeep records and provide requested reportsPerform other duties and tasks as neededDuties, responsibilities, and tasks may change at any time with or without noticePhysical Abilities Needed to Meet Work Demands:Ability to stand or walk continuously for long periods of timeAbility to go up and down stairsAbility to reach above the head, bend, kneel, stoopAbility to operate controlsAbility to lift, carry, and push up to 50 lbs. regularly and 75 – 100 pounds with assistanceAbility to work in dusty spaces or adverse weather conditionsJob Competencies Needed for Success on the Job:Ability to work with limited direct supervisionAbility to follow directions and focus on tasksAble to follow a detailed equipment maintenance programAbility to report problems or relate informationAbility to understand and comply with safety procedures and environmental requirementsAbility to operate machinery without posing a safety hazard to self or othersAbility to use and care for equipment and cleaning supplies properlyAbility to mix chemicals properlyAbility to notice and report changes in work space conditionsAbility to notify supervisor equipment or supplies are needed to perform taskAbility to complete tasks in a timely mannerAbility to attend work regularly according to assigned schedule and company policiesAbility to work a flexible schedule as required including weekends and holidaysAbility to attend and participate in training and work related meetingsAbility to deal with others in a positive, enthusiastic, respectful, and courteous mannerAbility to comply with all building, security, and company policies and proceduresEssential Personnel:This position is designated as essential.
