Front of House Manager Job DescriptionPosition Summary

The Front of House (FOH) Manager oversees all guest-facing operations to ensure an exceptional dining experience. This role is responsible for supervising FOH staff, maintaining service standards, and coordinating with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth, efficient, and professional service throughout each shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, and supervise FOH team members including hosts, servers, bartenders, and bussers.
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality guest service that aligns with company standards.
  • Maintain a visible presence on the floor during peak service periods to support staff and interact with guests.
  • Manage daily floor operations including reservations, seating, and flow of service.
  • Collaborate with the Back of House (BOH) and bar management to ensure clear communication and timely service.
  • Handle guest feedback, complaints, and special requests with professionalism and prompt resolution.
  • Oversee opening, shift-change, and closing procedures for FOH staff.
  • Monitor cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the dining area and restrooms.
  • Assist in scheduling, labor management, and payroll preparation for FOH team.
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and liquor laws.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations of FOH employees.
  • Track inventory of FOH supplies and coordinate orders when necessary.
  • Contribute to marketing and promotional initiatives to increase sales and guest engagement.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–3 years of restaurant or hospitality management experience required.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
  • Working knowledge of POS systems, reservation software, and cash handling procedures.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of hospitality standards and service etiquette.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Lift up to 30 pounds as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
