Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance tasks, with an emphasis on quality and efficiency. This is a flexible day shift role that is M-F with a start time of 7 am (or earlier if needed) and 40+ hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming, to maintain cleanliness in assigned areas.
  • Conduct floor care activities such as buffing, stripping, and waxing to ensure floors are well-maintained.
  • Manage waste disposal and recycling efforts in accordance with company policies.
  • Assist with basic maintenance tasks and facilities upkeep as needed.
  • Ensure restrooms are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, notifying management when reordering is necessary.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures while performing cleaning duties.

Skills

  • Proven experience in custodial or janitorial roles is preferred.
  • Familiarity with commercial cleaning practices and equipment operation.
  • Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing and waxing is a plus.
  • Experience in residential painting or industrial cleaning is beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality work standards.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills for effective interaction with staff and visitors.
