Room Attendants

Position Summary: 

The Room Attendant at Hampton Inn & Suites Hotel is a key team member entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining the cleanliness and organization of guest rooms. More than just tidying up, they play a pivotal role in ensuring that each guest's stay is comfortable and enjoyable by upholding the high standards of cleanliness and presentation that Hampton Inn & Suites is known for. Attention to detail, efficiency in time management, and a dedicated work ethic are fundamental attributes for success in this position. Room Attendants are also tasked with collaborating with other hotel departments to promptly address guest needs and requests. Cleaning and maintaining guest rooms to the highest standards

•    Changing linens, making beds, vacuuming, dusting, and replenishing amenities in guest rooms

•    Ensuring all supplies such as toiletries, towels, and linens are stocked and replaced as needed

•    Responding promptly to guest requests and resolving any issues or complaints effectively

•    Adhering to all safety and security procedures to provide a safe environment for guests and colleagues

•    Reporting any maintenance issues or damages in rooms to the appropriate department for timely resolution

Qualifications Requirements: 

•    A minimum of 1 year of progressive experience in hotel housekeeping. 

•    Exhibit a service-oriented approach with polished professional presentation skills. 

Knowledge and Skills: 

•    Proficiency in multitasking is essential. 

•    Minimum age requirement of 18 years. 

Language Skills:   

•    Proficiency in reading and understanding simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. 

•    Ability to compose basic correspondence. 

•    Skill in effectively presenting information in one-on-one and small group settings with colleagues and management 

Reasoning Ability:   

Having well-developed reasoning skills is essential for individuals in the role of Room Attendant at Hampton Inn & Suites. Room Attendants must possess the capacity to analyze situations logically, make sound decisions, and prioritize tasks effectively to maintain the cleanliness and organization of guest rooms. Additionally, they need to be able to adapt to changing circumstances quickly, such as accommodating special guest requests or responding promptly to any issues that may arise during their shift.

Repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and fingers are common. Room Attendants must be capable of lifting, moving, pushing, or pulling objects weighing between 0 and 50 lbs. Specific visual skills including close vision, distance vision, color perception, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are vital for this position.

•    Standing for prolonged periods while making beds, arranging furniture, and cleaning guest rooms 

•    Transporting and relocating bulky items such as bedding, towels, and cleaning supplies 

•    Stooping, crouching, and stretching to tidy and organize guest room amenities 

•    Demonstrating fine motor skills to handle delicate linens and operate cleaning machinery 

•    Operating vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and other cleaning equipment 

•    Moving around and navigating various areas within the hotel premises 

•    Effectively communicating with teammates and supervisors regarding room inventory 

•    Ensuring tidiness and sanitation in guest rooms and public areas 

•    Working efficiently in a lively environment with a keen eye for detail 

•    Adhering to safety guidelines and cleanliness protocols when handling linens and amenities 

•    Conducting inventory checks and accurately recording cleaning activities 

•    Collaborating with coworkers to meet guest service expectations 

•    Adapting to different cleaning duties and supporting other hotel departments as needed 

•    Delivering exceptional service by providing guests with immaculate and inviting accommodations 

•    Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet operational requirements
