Job Summary

Gowan/Garrett, Inc. is seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our team, servicing commercial clients across a designated territory. This role involves performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure optimal system performance and customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties will likely be assigned.

  • Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on standard package and split unit HVAC systems
  • Inspect and service belts, pulleys, condensate lines, compressors, motors, burners, heat exchangers, and safety controls
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and system failures, including brazing and leak detection
  • Conduct general repairs on steam and hot water boiler systems, and diagnose airflow and ducting issues
  • Handle refrigerants safely and in compliance with EPA standards
  • Complete work orders, service reports, and quality inspections using mobile technology
  • Perform minor electrical maintenance within state law (e.g., replacing fixtures, switches, outlets, bulbs, ballasts)
  • Conduct service and asset inspections as needed
  • Maintain clear communication with clients and internal teams to ensure a positive service experience
  • Participate in on-call rotation and complete required safety and compliance training Meet your written annual sales goals.
Qualifications

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Certified 2 (two) year HVAC technical certificate or state approved HVAC license
  • EPA Universal Refrigeration license required
  • Valid driver's license
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in HVAC and general maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
  • Hands-on experience with industrial/commercial HVAC systems
  • Strong understanding of building trades and the ability to perform a wide range of maintenance tasks
  • Any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the responsibilities of the role
