DUTIES:
Overall responsibility of the designated departmental sales, gross margin and turnover objectives for the CGX retail organization. Manages all aspects of the business for all retail stores and web by creating effective assortments, influencing product creation as appropriate, maximizing business by style by store, managing product presentation and ultimately driving top line sales and profitability.
Works under the general supervision of the Buyer or Associate Buyer. Operates independently within the framework of CSC/CGX policies, procedures, and regulations. Exercises independent judgment and approach in routine and non-routine situations. Consults with supervisor on such issues as policy matters, deviations from normal procedures or unusual situations. Maintains professionalism and courteous behavior at all times, works as a team player, and provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers. Performance is evaluated on operational performance, skills evaluations, customer service, collaboration and teamwork, leadership and established individual performance objectives.
Attends trade shows and market as appropriate; conduct store visits as appropriate to evaluate merchandise presentation, customer demographics, stock assortments and inventory levels.
Works closely with Regional Managers and store management to address and maximize business opportunities.
Maintains collaborative partnerships with vendors, internal and external colleagues.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Minimum:
High school diploma or GED.
Two years general experience in merchandising and/or one year buying experience in a multi-store operation and one year general experience in merchandising. Degree may substitute for general experience on a year-for-year basis.
Demonstrated leadership experience.
Experience in Microsoft Office with basic Excel experience.
This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.
Preferred (in addition to the minimum):
- A Bachelors Degree from an accredited university with emphasis in retail, business administration, or
related field. Experience may be substituted for degree on a year-for-year basis.
- Retail buying experience in a multi-store operation as a Buyer, Associate/Assistant Buyer, pricing specialist
or merchandiser.
Experience with business analysis.
Advanced Excel skills.
1+ Merchandise Information System experience in a multi-store environment.
Experience in Merchandise Planning System in a multi-store environment.
