Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Production Manager to oversee the day-to-day onsite operations of our ceramic kiln and pottery wheel production facility. The role is critical in driving operations from the release of orders through the manufacturing process to final order shipment to meet customer demand. This role has complete ownership in managing people, safety, quality, delivery and cost across the production system, while also driving improvements, production efficiency, and resolving day-to-day manufacturing challenges in a people-first environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and maintenance, to ensure smooth and cost-effective manufacturing processes.

Essential Duties

Work closely with Team Leads and individual contributing team members to collaboratively develop strategies to maximize engagement and performance.

Work with Scheduling, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Facilities, Engineering and CI departments to support the production team to meet production targets across key performance metrics.

Identify and implement improvements to the production processes and production system to improve quality, minimize costs and maximize company profitability.

Recruit, interview, and hire effective team members in sufficient numbers to complete scheduled daily output of manufactured products.

Key Responsibilities

· Motivate, support and guide Team Leads and production team members to be successful.

· Develop Team Leaders to effectively manage their department in a manner consistent with the values, culture and goals of the organization.

· Ensure all safety and health standards are met by keeping team members accident-free.

· Communicate regularly with upper management regarding concerns or issues impacting production.

· Evaluate machine resources to ensure continued production and minimal downtime.

· Establish a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs of manufacturing operations.

· Set productivity goals for each manufacturing team in line with customer demand.

· Develop workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality.

· Directly supervises Team Leaders in the production departments. Carries out supervisory responsibilities by the organization's policies and applicable laws.

· Ensure adequate scheduling of staff through interviewing, hiring, and assisting in onboarding members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing and resolving conflicts.

· Work collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of inclusivity and cooperation.

Position Qualifications

· A Bachelor's degree from a college

· 5+ years of experience working as a manager in a manufacturing setting and/or related experience

· Exceptional skills and/or experience developing a high-performing team

· A minimum of 2 years of lean training or lean application in a prior role

· Strong problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis and corrective actions

· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment with multiple priorities

· Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across departments

· Hands-on approach with a drive to be on the production floor resolving issues

Details:

Job Type: Full-time, Monday thru Friday (Occasional Saturdays required)

Shift: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (30-minute lunch)
