We are seeking a driven and analytical individual to join our team as a Natural Gas and Power Fundamentals Analyst. This role will play a key part in supporting our supply and demand data analysis within these markets.

Position Overview
:

The Natural Gas and Power Market Fundamentals Analyst will be responsible for analyzing supply and demand fundamentals in the natural gas and power markets. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong foundation in data analysis, proficiency in Excel, Python, and the ability to work with large datasets. Experience with SQL and statistical modeling is preferred, but we welcome applicants who are eager to learn and grow in these areas.

Key Responsibilities
:

  • Analyze and interpret supply and demand data for natural gas and power markets.
  • Develop, maintain, and update models to forecast market trends and prices.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate market insights.
  • Work closely with other team members to support the development of market strategies.
  • Gather and process large datasets using Excel, Python, and SQL; create visualizations and dashboards in Excel and Power BI.
  • Use SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Perform statistical analysis to identify patterns and trends.
  • Stay current on industry news, trends, and regulatory developments that may impact the market.

Required Qualifications
:

  • Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Strong skills in Excel, including data manipulation, charting, and basic modeling.
  • Knowledge of basic statistical methods and their applications.
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work with large datasets.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills in market analysis, data modeling, machine learning, and Python coding.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both written and verbally.

Preferred Qualifications
:

  • Experience in energy markets or related industries.
  • Knowledge of SQL and experience in database querying.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
