Principal Function: The Class A Delivery Driver at Now Courier is responsible for executing same-day pickup and delivery services across the region. Utilizing a company-provided day cab, the driver ensures timely and secure transport of various types of freight, including boxed and palletized good, constructions materials, manufacturing materials, and more.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Operate a day cab with flatbed trailer and piggyback forklift to transport goods and materials; secure loads using straps and/or chains and ensure safe delivery to designated locations; perform loading and unloading procedures at job sites.
- Ensure safe loading, unloading, securement, and transport of freight using a piggyback forklift (aka Moffet).
- Verify the contents of loads against shipping documents and confirm accuracy.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and ensure timely reporting.
- Perform routine truck/forklift inspections and report any maintenance issues.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, road laws, and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and management to ensure efficient operations.
- Provide excellent customer service by always maintaining professionalism.
- Wear company provided uniform.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty according to the requirements of NOW Courier. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or G.E.D.; and one year of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Tractor/trailer experience with a 53' flatbed is required. Experience with a piggyback Forklift (aka Moffett) preferred but not required.
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Valid Class A CDL (Commercial Driver's License)
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a truck driver, flatbed experience required.
- Experience with a piggyback Forklift (aka Moffett) preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for transporting goods.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well with a team.
- Ability to lift and handle packages of various sizes and weights.
- Clean driving record and roadside inspection history.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have and maintain a verifiable Commercial Class A Driver's License, demonstrated safe driving record, and remain insurable through the company's liability insurance carrier as applicable.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point), depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships), and the ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).

This job operates primarily in a warehouse/vehicle environment with frequent exposure to safety/health hazard potential. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
While the offices of NOW Courier are open from 8AM to 5PM, Monday through Friday, this job will require work beyond these hours and on the weekends.
