Pet Stylist

Overview

We are an independent groomer owned salon located just south of Lansing Michigan. We have been open since 2008, and have a very loyal and strong customer base. We are open Monday through Saturday 9-5, we each work every other weekend and one evening per week (12-8pm). Groomers receive 50% commission on grooms, 100% commission on walk in nail trims, and 100% of your tips. We are a W-2 and are paid weekly. I only require 40 hours a week but you are more then welcome to pick up additional hours if you want to. We are closed all major holidays and if we can the closest weekend (we highly value work/life balance). You receive 1 weeks paid vacation (after 1 year) in addition to the State mandated paid sick leave. We have a sharpener that comes every 6-8 weeks and I pay a portion of your maintenance. Duties

• Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, and styling pets according to breed standards and client preferences.
• Handle pets with care, ensuring their comfort and safety during the grooming process.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners about their pet's grooming needs and preferences.
• Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, adhering to health and safety standards.
• Monitor the health and behavior of pets during grooming sessions, reporting any concerns to pet owners or management.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure a positive experience for both pets and their owners.

Experience

Candidates should possess the following skills and experiences:

• Proven experience in pet grooming or related fields such as veterinary technician or veterinary assistant roles.
• Strong background in dog handling, animal care, and animal restraint techniques.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger breeds or equipment.
