About the Role

We are seeking a reliable, hands-on Live-In Porter/Super to oversee the daily upkeep, cleanliness, and basic building operations of 3 residential buildings in the Lower East Side. This is a great opportunity for someone who is proactive, organized, and committed to maintaining a safe, clean, and well-functioning environment for residents.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of common areas (lobby, hallways, stairwells, sidewalks, trash areas).
  • Handle daily garbage and recycling collection, including curbside placement and return.
  • Perform minor repairs and basic maintenance tasks (plumbing, electrical, painting, patching, etc.).
  • Monitor building systems and report issues promptly to property management.
  • Provide access for vendors and oversee small repairs or scheduled service work.
  • Respond to resident concerns in a professional, timely manner.
  • Maintain building logs and ensure compliance with NYC building standards.
  • Assist with deliveries, move-ins/move-outs, and seasonal building tasks (snow removal, salt, etc.).
  • Be available for emergency situations.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a porter, super, or building maintenance worker preferred.
  • Strong communication and customer-service mindset.
  • Basic handyman skills and comfort troubleshooting building issues.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and complete physical tasks on a daily basis.
  • Must be responsible, punctual, and able to work independently.

Compensation

  • On-site apartment provided (live-in after 60 day probationary period)
  • $30,000-$35,000 salary

Pay: $30, $50,000.00 per year
