Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Inspired Transportation Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the logistics of transporting individuals to and from their residence to their desired location. They are responsible for overseeing and organizing drivers for the program. They will keep track of transportation operation and ensure that all policies, procedures and safety rules are followed.

  • Direct dispatching and routing of vehicles
  • Oversee technology and equipment related to transportation services
  • Supervise drivers
  • Maintain and train drivers on software related to transportation and routing
  • Ensure that transportation is operated in a consistent and timely manner
  • Assure that all drivers are trained on vehicles and complete policies and procedures associated with the position
  • Complete maintenance checks on all vehicles on a regular basis
  • Arrange repairs when needed
  • Troubleshoot scenarios related to routes and vehicles
  • Conduct safety audits
  • Maintain a budget approved for Inspired Transportation and report to the Director of Operations and/or Executive Director of Inspiration Studios

Education and/or Work Experience

This position requires experience in the transportation management field. This position also requires experience in managing employees.

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, business management, engineering or related field preferred
  • At least two (2) years experience in transportation management
  • Knowledge of transportation industry and logistics
  • Leadership skills and previous managerial experience
  • Critical thinking skills
  • High School Diploma required

Employment Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving abstract; must be able to get to meeting sites throughout the county and state.
  • Must pass a chemical dependency test
  • Acceptable criminal background check
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

Skills and Competencies

Knowledge in:

Logistics and organizing and maintaining transportation routes. The ability to oversee employees and give direction. Problem solving and logistics as it pertains to transportation services. Extensive knowledge in transportation software and technology. Budgeting and reporting financials.

Ability to:

Recognize unusual or threatening conditions and respond accordingly; work alone or as part of a team; maintain information in a confidential manner; deal with multiple priorities; maintain records and reports in a timely and accurate manner; convey general trust and confidence; maintain positive working relationships with others; organize time efficiently and effectively; read and carry out complex instructions particularly as they impact programming, specifically related to Inspired Transportation.

Personal Contacts:

Extensive contact with staff at all levels and from all departments, Board members, families, individuals and organizations in the community. Maintain a positive working relationship with partners in the community.

Demonstrated skill in:

Communicating clearly in both written and verbal form; use of PC computer, including but not limited to, word processing, email, spreadsheets.

Knowledge and ongoing training in:

Confidentiality & Individual Rights, HIPAA, Incident Reporting, Incidents Adversely Affecting Health & Safety (MUI/UI), Ohio Abuser Registry, Prohibited Employee Harassment, Training on Board Policies and Procedures

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • This position description does not include every duty or responsibility; there shall be other duties, as assigned.
  • Must be able to work outside normal business hours and schedules
  • Ability to work with individuals whose actions may pose a risk to the health and welfare of others
  • Possible exposure to hazardous driving conditions

Job Type: Full-time
