Duties

  • Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Assist with menu planning by suggesting creative dish ideas and modifications based on seasonal ingredients or dietary needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety and handling protocols.
  • Execute food preparation tasks efficiently during busy service periods to support smooth restaurant operations.
  • Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, portioning, and presentation of all dishes served.
  • Support catering events by preparing large quantities of menu items while maintaining quality standards.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation, ensuring timely delivery of orders.
  • Follow all health regulations and safety procedures diligently to uphold a safe working environment for everyone.
  • Assist in training new team members on kitchen procedures, knife skills, and food handling practices.
  • Contribute to a positive team atmosphere by serving as a reliable and proactive team player.

Skills

  • Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within the food industry or restaurant settings.
  • Strong knife skills with the ability to efficiently chop, slice, dice, and fillet ingredients.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques.
  • Experience with menu planning and meal preparation for diverse dietary needs.
  • Ability to work quickly under pressure while maintaining attention to detail during busy service hours.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and front-of-house staff.
