We are looking for someone with a passion for animals and wanting to explore the veterinary field. We are a busy single doctor small animal practice looking to add a veterinary assistant/receptionist to our team. Applicant must be reliable with a strong work ethic.

Job Description:

Must be able to multi task : you will be greeting clients, checking in clients and their pets, answering phones, communications via email as well as every day receptionist duties.

Scheduling: using Avimark software you will be responsible for scheduling surgeries, emergencies, doctor and technician appointments, manage multiple platforms

An absolute must is a cheerful and professional demeanor, we want to make sure all clients and their pets enjoy their entire visit from start to finish.

Help keeping exam rooms and the front office clean and ready to use.

Supporting the doctor and technicians in every day duties and helping support the hospitals initiatives and goals.

Skills and Qualifications:

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Able to work in a fast paced environment, independently and effectively

Able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, you will be responsible for carrying dog food to and from the clinic for clients

Professional appearance a must, you are the first person our clients see and we want to make sure we make an excellent impression at all times

Assist in exam rooms with history taking, drawing up vaccines, restraint, preparing medications to go home, blood draws, run lab equipment, and client education.

Prior veterinary or animal care preferred

Helping with end of day duties and cleaning

Working efficiently in a team setting , being a team player is a must

Clean treatment, exam, surgery and lab areas daily

Helping prepare and send out laboratory samples

Assist the Doctor and Veterinary Assistant with restraint and treatment of animals

Perform other duties as assigned that assist the Doctor, Receptionist and Veterinarian Technicians/Assistants in the smooth flow and operation of the clinic, care of clients and service to the clients

Unpacking orders and stocking inventory and food orders

Skills and Qualifications:

Must be 18 years old

Computer skills are helpful

Must be able to work independently and be able to handle stressful and messy situations

Must be able to lift 40#

Must be able to work evenings and possible some weekends

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
