Overview
The
Inside Broker/Underwriter
will be responsible for evaluating, underwriting, and placing risks while building and maintaining strong relationships with retail agents, brokers, and carrier partners. This role requires a deep understanding of underwriting principles, market trends, and the ability to negotiate and secure competitive terms for clients.
How You'll Make An Impact
Risk Assessment and Underwriting:
Evaluate new and renewal submissions for various lines of business, including property, casualty, and specialty risks.
- Analyze risk exposures, loss history, and other relevant data to determine appropriate coverage and pricing.
Make sound underwriting decisions within assigned authority levels.
Placement and Negotiation:
Work with carriers to negotiate terms, pricing, and coverage for insurance policies.
Identify and secure the best possible terms for clients while adhering to company guidelines.
Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with retail agents and brokers.
Serve as a trusted advisor, providing tailored insurance solutions to meet client needs.
Market Knowledge:
Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes.
Identify opportunities for growth and expansion within assigned territories or lines of business.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
Partner with senior brokers, underwriters, and other team members to deliver comprehensive solutions.
Support the team in achieving sales and revenue targets.
Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure all underwriting and brokering activities comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of underwriting decisions, communications, and transactions.
About You
Required: Bachelor's degree and 2 years related experience required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications and Microsoft Office.

Compensation And Benefits
We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position. The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
