Software Developer

The Software Developer will research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. They will analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. They will update software or enhance existing software capabilities. The Software Developer may work with computer hardware engineers to integrate hardware and software systems and develop specifications and performance requirements. They may also maintain databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team.
Experience Requirements:
Minimum of five (5) years of experience carrying out duties similar to the functions above.
Experience performing software development support for existing, planned, and future Navy IT systems and digital/virtual environments.
Experience capturing user and business owner requirements.
Experience coordinating with appropriate departmental personnel regarding Enterprise Architecture (EA).
Experience identifying functional, security, and performance requirements.
Experience developing logical and physical database models.
Experience performing coding, testing, quality assurance, design, and program documentation; implementation; and maintaining interoperability between future and existing hardware and software applications.
Experience performing end-to-end application integration and delivery.
Experience with HyperText Markup Language (HTML), JavaScript, JQuery, Web Services, Asynchronous Javascript and Extensible Markup Language (AJAX), Extensible Markup Language (XML).
