Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opening for an Applications Engineer, based in our Research & Innovation Center in Middletown, Ohio Regional Office. This role works directly with customers on business development activities including new product development, new program launch, and material qualifications.

Summary Of Responsibilities

  • Performs engineering activities supporting product and application development
  • Interacts directly with new and existing customers, identifies new applications, as well as new product development opportunities
  • Leads early vendor involvement activity, analyzes product requirements, tracks material prototyping needs and assures production intent material availability for customer trials
  • Collaborate with Research, Products & Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Customer Technical Service, and Quality in advanced product planning, pre-launch, and launch support to meet customer requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Engineering or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in steel applications and steel product development
  • Familiarity with automotive, appliance, or other manufacturing processes and development protocols
