Role Summary

As a Senior Estimator, you will lead the development of accurate cost estimates and competitive bids for heavy civil projects, with a focus on water/wastewater infrastructure. This role demands strong analytical skills, market insight, and the ability to build strategic relationships with subcontractors and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed and competitive bid proposals for civil construction projects.
  • Perform comprehensive quantity takeoffs and validate cost accuracy.
  • Analyze project risks, market conditions, and pricing strategies.
  • Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to secure optimal pricing.
  • Maintain historical cost data to enhance future estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and executives to align estimating strategies with company objectives.
  • Mentor junior estimators and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 4+ years in heavy civil construction, including water/wastewater projects; 2+ years in estimating.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in HCSS HeavyBid and takeoff tools (BlueBeam, PlanSwift); familiarity with Primavera P6 or MS Project is a plus.
  • Expertise: Strong knowledge of self-perform work, labor, equipment, and material cost estimating.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • Other: Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills; ability to interpret plans, specs, and contract documents.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $155,000.00 per year
