About the AFS Medication Services Program

AFS Medication Services helps individuals achieve stability, hope, and wellness through comprehensive evaluation, medication management, and ongoing support. We also partner with select substance use disorder programs to provide coordinated, whole-person care. If you're passionate about improving lives, this is where your work truly matters.

What You'll Do

Maintain and interact with a caseload of clients with diverse characteristics at two (2) ReDiscover AFS locations (South Kansas City and Lee's Summit). Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnose, and prescribe appropriate psychotropic medication(s). Manage the medical care and treatment for the clients of the AFS program. Attend and participate in regularly scheduled treatment team meetings and work with members of a diverse, interdisciplinary team. Provide timely and appropriate documentation for billable services. Facilitate each client's achievement of long-range outcomes of symptom management and functionality based upon the needs of the client. Collect and maintain information about clients and document interactions within ReDiscover's designated electronic medical record.

Requirements of the Position

Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program is required. A Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification (PMHNP) is required. Licensed as an APRN in the State of Missouri is required. Collaborative Practice Agreement with a ReDiscover licensed Psychiatrist is required. Ability to travel between two (2) ReDiscover AFS locations is required. This would include working 20 hours per week at each location. Preference given to board-certified individuals, including those with active BNDD, DEA, and NPI. Two (2) years of experience in direct service provision in a behavioral health setting is strongly preferred. Working knowledge of mental illness and substance use disorders. Excellent customer service skills with a recovery focus. Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word, and Excel programs as well as G-Suite.
