Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Doctor's Assistant to support our veterinarians and clinical team in delivering exceptional patient care. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about animal welfare, teamwork, and learning in a fast-paced veterinary environment. The Doctor's Assistant plays a critical role in patient care, exam room support, and maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient hospital.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Support

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and minor procedures
  • Scribe duties during consults
  • Assisting medical team with completing treatments on patients
  • Assisting in completing appointments
  • Handling communication tasks from the Client Service Team
  • Assisting in document creation and completion (ex. Vaccine certificates, external RX requests, etc...)

Patient Care & Comfort

  • Provide compassionate handling and comfort to patients
  • Observe and report changes in patient condition to the medical team
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary treatment and exam area
  • Assist with basic patient hygiene and husbandry tasks

Client Interaction

  • Greet clients and patients with professionalism and empathy
  • Support the medical team by reinforcing care instructions and follow-up information
  • Maintain a calm, supportive environment for clients and pets

Hospital Operations

  • Clean and sanitize kennels, treatment areas, and equipment
  • Stock supplies and assist with inventory as needed
  • Follow all safety, infection control, and hospital protocols
  • Support team members to ensure smooth daily workflow

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior experience in a veterinary, animal care, or medical setting preferred
  • Ability to safely handle animals of varying sizes and temperaments
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills
  • Willingness to learn and follow medical protocols and instructions
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 40–50 lbs.), and work on your feet for extended periods

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Weekend availability is required
  • Fast-paced clinical environment with exposure to animals, cleaning chemicals, and medical equipment
