Summary/Objectives: The Quality Specialist supports quality initiatives by inspecting products, auditing processes, and ensuring compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory frameworks. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to manufacturing processes, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Demonstrate the ability to follow directions from management and lead
  • Read, interpret, and understand operation sheets (Op Sheets) and production flow documentation
  • Perform process audits under the direction of the Quality Manager
  • Complete AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAI)
  • Associate drawing with applicable dimensional data for inspections
  • Assist with production quality checks as directed
  • Assist in Lean Manufacturing, Theory of Constraints, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and other applicable standards
  • Conduct root cause analyses and recommend corrective actions
  • Identify and report quality trend, risks, and reoccurring issues
  • Support training of production personnel in quality expectations and procedures
  • Follow all manufacturing processes, procedures, and safety guidelines
  • Maintain reliable attendance and demonstrate a strong work ethic

Education, Experience/Competencies:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience/Competencies - Required:

  • Working knowledge of quality systems, inspection methods, and industry standards
  • Computer literacy (data entry, file navigation, use of Microsoft Office)
  • Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, quality, and safety
  • Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional team environment.

Experience/Competencies - Preferred:

  • Experience in electronics manufacturing or a related industry
  • Component ID certification
  • Blackfox certification (or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with programming or scripting language (e.g. Python, VBA)

Physical Demands:

  • The employee is required to sit or stand for long periods depending on task.
  • Performance of repetitive tasks and motions.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
  • Repetitive use of hands/motion and have manual dexterity, finger dexterity, and multi-limb coordination
  • Use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Manufacturing plant, non-controlled climate, mechanical equipment, moving objects, noise, fumes, odors, dirt, and dust

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Full-Time. Work Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 6:00AM – 4:30PM. Work schedule is subject to change. May require overtime based on business needs.

Travel: No travel is expected for this position

$500.00 sign on bonus after 90 days (for new employees to Pelco Solutions)
