Job Description

Component Design Engineers are responsible for the design and development of electronic components. Responsibilities may include: the

design of chip layout circuit design, circuit checking, device evaluation and characterization, documentation of specifications, prototype

construction and checkout, modification and evaluation of semiconductor devices and components, performing developmental and/or test

work, reviewing product requirements and logic diagrams, planning and organizing design projects or phases of design projects. Responds to

customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgement.

Responsibilities


• Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of EDA tools


• Monitor and troubleshoot issues related to EDA tools and infrastructure, providing timely resolutions


• Implement and maintain automation scripts to streamline EDA tool management and resource allocation


• Support scripts and automation within the EDA tools


• Provide technical support and training to engineering teams on EDA tools and best practices


• Support IT in identifying and monitoring licensing & cloud environment needs


• Evaluate and recommend new EDA tools and technologies to enhance productivity and efficiency


• Experience in database administration/management (specifically DesignSync) (added this)

Qualifications


• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field


• 5+ years of experience in EDA infrastructure management or a similar role


• Strong knowledge of EDA tools such as Cadence, Synopsys, and Mentor Graphics


• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Shell


• Experience with license management tools and techniques


• Familiarity with high-performance computing environments and resource management
