Overview

We are seeking an experienced Immigration Paralegal. The ideal candidate is bilingual in Spanish and English, excels in client interactions, and has a proven track record in immigration law support. This role involves assisting attorneys in preparing and filing immigration petitions, managing case files, and ensuring seamless communication with clients throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file USCIS forms, petitions, and applications (e.g., I-130, I-485, N-400, and related documentation).
  • Prepare and file with EOIR (I-589, Motions, 42B)
  • Conduct legal research on immigration laws, regulations, and USCIS policies.
  • Handle files for K-visa, U-visa, SIJS
  • Manage client intake, interviews, and follow-ups, providing clear explanations of processes in both English and Spanish.
  • Maintain accurate case files, track deadlines, and coordinate with USCIS and other government agencies.
  • Assist in preparing clients for interviews, hearings, and appeals.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, correspondence, and document translation/review.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to develop case strategies and ensure compliance with all immigration requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience as an immigration paralegal, with specialized knowledge of USCIS procedures and forms.
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English (written and verbal) is required for effective client communication.
  • Exceptional client service skills, with a demonstrated ability to build rapport, empathize, and handle sensitive situations professionally.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in legal software (e.g., Clio, ImmigrationPro, or similar).
  • Knowledge of immigration law updates, including family-based petitions, adjustment of status, naturalization, and deportation defense.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with USCIS and EOIR online filing systems (e.g., ELIS).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with EOIR (Executive Office for Immigration Review) or other immigration-related agencies.
  • Prior work in a high-volume immigration law firm.
  • Additional language skills are a plus.
