Overview

We are seeking experienced Truck Drivers to join our logistics team, serving our sales team and customers in a safe and timely manner. We buy used trucks/trailers nationwide, but most deliveries are to customers within the Midwest region. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and efficiency while delivering heavy-duty, medium-duty, and trailers (flatbed, end dumps, dry vans, reefers, etc.) across various routes. This role requires expertise in operating different types of trucks and a Class A Commerical Driver's License. Drivers are responsible for ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy- and medium-duty trucks (both automatic and manual), as well as various trailers, when necessary, from vendor lots to our business and/or deliver units to customers
  • Have general mechanical knowledge about heavy-duty tractors
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
  • Identify and report defects, failed components that require repair, and/or potential DOT violations before leaving vendor lot
  • Maintain an accurate logbook, documenting work/rest periods and miles spent driving, and comply with all other DOT regulations and laws (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods), as well as with company policies and procedures
  • Navigate assigned routes efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and regulations
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery status and any issues encountered on the road
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the truck assigned
  • Retain all fuel/hotel/toll and roadside repair, if applicable, receipts

Requirements

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record and familiarity with route driving
  • Proficiency in operating tractor-trailers, dump trucks, box trucks, and other commercial vehicles
  • Mechanical adeptness is a plus
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (e.g., traffic, weather conditions, truck breakdowns, etc.)
  • Ability to perform manual tasks associated with trailer hook-up, stacking, etc.
  • Strong attention to detail for conducting vehicle inspections and maintaining logs.
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable rules and regulations, including DOT inspection basics
  • Ability to drive 8-11 hours at a time, if needed, and travel across state lines
  • Willing and able to fly commercially
  • Willing to submit background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations
  • Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
