What We're Looking For
- Current student pursuing a degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems or a strong willingness to learn.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) with the ability to learn industry-specific software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proactive approach to learning.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment with evolving project needs.
- Interest in gaining real-world experience in electrical design and construction.
Your role as a Project Designer Intern
This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in project design and preconstruction support within the electrical construction industry. As a Project Designer Intern, you'll gain valuable insight into electrical system design, project planning, and coordination while working closely with experienced professionals. This role is ideal for students interested in electrical design, construction management, or engineering who want to develop their skills in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
- Assist with project documentation and organization, including reviewing blueprints, proposals, and specifications.
- Support in identifying critical path activities for projects and help document key processes.
- Communicate with team members to provide updates on project tasks and flag any issues, along with proposed solutions.
- Learn about electrical systems and how they align with industry standards, including the National Electrical Code and local/state codes.
- Work with Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD to assist in project design efforts (training provided as needed).
- Gain exposure to preconstruction planning by attending project meetings and shadowing experienced professionals.
