The Facilities and Infrastructure Directorate is responsible for the management, maintenance, and construction of all real property assets of the California Military Department. The Construction Supervisor II position works under direction of the Building Official / Construction Supervisor Ill. The Construction Supervisor II is designated under the Conflict-of-Interest Code and is responsible for making, or participating in the making of, governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. Failure to comply with the Conflict-of-Interest Code requirements may void the appointment. The quality Building Compliance branch performs inspection services throughout California. Due to changing workload, this position may be assigned to various project sites throughout the State, requiring long-term travel and/or overnight stays.
All work is to be accomplished in accordance with guidelines of the California Military Department Facilities and Infrastructure, Building Compliance branch policy and procedures, California Code of Regulations, Title 24, the California Building Standards Codes, applicable building codes and industry standards. The performance of the following duties requires substantial field work. The time in the field shall average between 55% and 85%. It will be a requirement that the incumbent transport all materials required for the job. Examples of materials are full set of the California Building Codes, plans and specifications, other reference materials, inspection tools and personal protective equipment needed.

As an employee of the CA Military Department (CMD), you are required to perform the "essential functions" of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. Persons employed at the California Military Department must be able to pass a background investigation and LiveScan fingerprinting.
- This position may/may not be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the CMD and based on the current telework policy. While the CMD supports telework where possible, in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksite with minimal notification if an urgent need arises, as determined by the Department.

- Certification and experience as a government building inspector utilizing the USACE quality control program.
- Familiarization with the Unified Facilities Criteria and Unified Facilities Guide Specifications
- Possession of certificates in general building construction and or building inspection.
- Possession of current registration as a licensed architect or professional engineer (civil, structural, mechanical, or electrical).
- Willingness to work in a military environment.

- Please describe your experience as a construction superintendent on major projects—such as schools, hospitals, prisons, institutions, or high- and mid-rise office buildings—or as an architect's, engineer's, owner's, or construction manager's representative responsible for technical inspection, construction supervision, or project management of building construction work.
