Responsibilities

  • Process payroll accurately and efficiently using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring adherence to company policies and legal requirements
  • Manage data entry for employee hours, wages, benefits, and deductions within payroll software and accounting platforms like QuickBooks or PeopleSoft
  • Reconcile payroll accounts regularly, including general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, to maintain financial accuracy
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including deductions for health insurance, retirement plans, and other voluntary benefits
  • Prepare and review journal entries related to payroll transactions, ensuring compliance with double entry bookkeeping principles and technical accounting standards
  • Collaborate with HRIS teams to update employee records and ensure seamless integration between HR systems and payroll data
  • Maintain detailed records of payroll transactions, tax filings, and audit documentation to support internal reviews and external audits

Requirements

  • Proven experience in payroll management with familiarity in systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or Ceridian
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes combined with knowledge of accounting concepts like debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger accounting
  • Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks or similar platforms; experience with financial software is highly desirable
  • Excellent data entry skills with a focus on accuracy; proficiency in 10 key typing is preferred
  • Knowledge of benefits administration, governmental accounting standards, non-profit accounting practices, and tax regulations related to payroll processing
  • Ability to analyze financial data effectively and perform account reconciliation tasks efficiently
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic understanding of human resources functions related to payroll and employee record management
