Accounting Assistant/ Assistant Office Manager

Responsibilities:

The Accounting Assistant will assist the Office Manager to carry out responsibilities for fiscal accounting and bookkeeping, physical office facilities and equipment, and personnel benefits administration of Progress Center.

Essential Functions

  • Report to the Office Manager.
  • Assist in maintaining all Revenue, Expense and Payroll records, which includes disposal and shredding of these documents as needed.
  • Generate reports when requested by the Executive Director.
  • Assist in maintaining staff time records including sick and vacation time.
  • Assist in maintaining all office equipment and supplies.
  • Represent the Center at official functions when requested.
  • Assist in maintaining day to day bookkeeping including all ledgers using accounting software, reports, vouchers and invoices, modifications, check registry, bank reconciliations, etc. in accordance with established state and federal regulations.
  • Assist in preparing all Center reimbursement requests to granting agencies on a timely basis.
  • Follow all established Center policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Coursework in accounting or business administration preferred.
  • Demonstrates good time management skills.
  • Demonstrates good organizational skills.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within an office environment.
  • Experience working with people with disabilities (prefer direct personal experience).

Full -time or Part-time. The full-time salary is 35,000 a year. A part-time option with an hourly salary is available.

Pay: $35,000.00 per year
