We are looking for an AI LLM Retrieval Engineer based in Latin America to work on a long-term project for one of our clients, a Software Development company based in Atlanta, Georgia.

Our client is building a secure, bank-grade AI infrastructure and developing cutting-edge applications designed to power the next generation of modern banking and financial services.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and maintain client-specific and internal RAG pipelines, including embedding generation, document chunking, and metadata tagging.
  • Collaborate directly with enterprise clients to assess data landscapes, retrieval requirements, and grounding needs.
  • Select, test, and optimize embedding models (text and multimodal) for both accuracy and efficiency.
  • Design retrieval strategies (dense, sparse, hybrid) to maximize precision and recall.
  • Establish and monitor evaluation metrics for retrieval performance (e.g., , MRR, nDCG).
  • Align retrieval structure, granularity, and metadata with reasoning workflows.
  • Maintain documentation, schemas, and retrieval guidelines for internal and client teams.
  • Stay current with advancements in vector databases, embedding models, and retrieval frameworks.

Requirements

  • Advanced Level of English
  • 2+ years of experience building and optimizing retrieval systems in production environments.
  • 2+ years of experience with embedding models, indexing strategies, and ANN search.
  • 2+ years of experience with vector DBs such as Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus, Vespa, or FAISS.
  • 3+ years of experience working with Python and familiarity with RAG frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Haystack.
  • 1+ years of experience in relevance tuning, hybrid search, and retrieval evaluation methodologies.
  • 1+ years of experience working with graph databases such as Neo4J or ArangoDB.
  • Strong communication skills for technical and client-facing collaboration.
