Quality Technician

POSITION PURPOSE/MISSION:
Verify product conformance to specifications. Perform mechanical tests, micro sample preparations, data entries, machine maintenance and housekeeping. Assist the Quality Control Auditor and Quality Control Inspector. Perform various other duties as assigned. Responsible for own safety and the safety of others in the area.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Constant standing.
- Frequent walking, carrying, and lifting up to 10 lbs.
- Occasional push/pull, reaching over 15" away from the body, reaching above shoulder, use of fine motor skills, and forceful motion.
- Minimal lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as provided in detail in the Job Analysis Database.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Forklift Operator Certification.
- Proficient in basic math skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work well with other employees.
- Ability to follow and give instructions.
- Basic problem solving skills.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Verify product conformance to specifications.
- Perform mechanical tests.
- Perform metallographic inspections.
- Prepare micro samples.
- Complete required paperwork and data entry.
- Determine disposition of material.
- Investigate customer complaints.
- Perform machine maintenance.
- Assist the Quality Control Auditor and Quality Control Inspector.
- Perform daily housekeeping and maintain the area.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as instructed by the supervisor.
- Follow and comply with all safety and work rules.
- Follow Environmental, Quality and Safety Management System procedures and requirements.
- Ability to meet the essential job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as outlined in the job description.
