Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mobile Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic veterinary team. This role involves providing high-quality veterinary care from our mobile veterinary unit servicing different locations throughout the greater Boston area. Ensuring animals receive the best treatment in a comfortable, calm, and warm environment The ideal candidate will have strong animal handling skills, veterinary technical expertise, and the ability to work independently in a mobile setting. Must be comfortable with Canine and feline patients. Must be comfortable driving a large mobile bus unit through the city and parallel parking. This position offers an excellent opportunity within the veterinary field while making a meaningful difference in pet and animal care.

Duties

  • Perform animal restraint and handling to ensure safety during examinations and procedures
  • Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures such as animal catheterization, injections, and sample collection
  • Conduct laboratory tests and prepare samples for analysis using aseptic techniques
  • Administer dental care procedures and understand dental terminology relevant to small animals
  • Operate diagnostic equipment including X-ray machines and interpret basic imaging results
  • Support animal physiology assessments and understand animal anatomy for accurate diagnosis and treatment
  • Manage pet care documentation accurately, including medical records and treatment plans
  • Maintain a clean, sterile environment following veterinary critical care standards
  • Educate pet owners on animal health, grooming, training, and basic pet care practices
  • Driving the mobile veterinary unit to location and returning it at the end of shift. Bonus included for these duties. Must have a valid drivers license.

Experience

  • Veterinary technician experience or similar veterinary practice exposure required
  • Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy essential
  • Hands-on experience with dog handling, animal restraint, and laboratory procedures highly desirable
  • Experience with equine animals or large animals is a plus but not mandatory
  • Familiarity with aseptic techniques, X-ray operation, and pet training enhances candidacy
  • Previous roles involving animal care support and lab collection
  • Ability to adapt and maintain in a fast moving environment.
  • Strong understanding of pet grooming techniques and dog training methods is beneficial

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $31.10 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
