Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and energetic Cat Café Associate to join our vibrant team. This role involves providing exceptional customer service and cat care in a unique environment where guests enjoy hanging out with adorable adoptable cats or booking a stay for their cat in our boarding facility. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be organized and dedicated to keeping a clean sterile facility, a creative flare for marketing and social media, and a love for animals. Prior experience in cat handling and care, POS systems, and retail or boarding establishments is highly valued.

Duties

  • Maintain cleanliness of the premises, including sanitation of food bowls, water bowls, and litter boxes, daily sweeping and mopping, cleaning of kennels, picking up cat accidents (throw up, pee, poop) etc.
  • Provide care to cats such as nail trims, weigh ins, administering medicine, and ongoing general health checks
  • Care for cats boarding with us including writing detailed and thoughtful daily postcards to their owners
  • Operate our Square POS system for order processing and transactions as well s managing website updates
  • Manage cash handling accurately, including cashing out customers and balancing registers
  • Create engaging social media posts to drive brand awareness
  • Provide friendly, attentive customer service to ensure a positive guest experience
  • Upsell items and promote special offers to increase sales
  • Ensure the café and retail areas are well-stocked and presentable
  • Support team members with various tasks as asked and contribute to a positive employee work environment

Experience

  • Familiarity with POS systems such as Square, Clover, etc is advantageous as well as technology such as Google Drive, Google Sheets, etc
  • Experience with cat handling and care including administering medication
  • Experience in cashiering, upselling, or sales roles enhances ability to engage customers effectively
  • Strong time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently
  • Ability to work on your own with little oversight
  • Creativity for writing and managing social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook
