Virginia Beach Counseling and Wellness is seeking trauma informed, LGBT affirming inclusive therapists & social workers to join our expanding collective team. This position will be in-person at our Virginia Beach office, with the option for some hours to be available via video Telehealth if desired.

If you have a master's degree, and are independently licensed in the state of Virginia (LPC, LCSW, LMFT) feel free to apply. We will also consider provisionally licensed residents who expect to be fully licensed within 6 months. Up to six months of supervision provided for residents.

We help you build a caseload that matches your clinical talent and areas of interest while investing in your professional development. Our community is LGBTQ+ affirming, body positive, inclusive of all persons and values, and embraces a collective & diverse perspective.

Our team handles the majority of the administrative work so candidates can focus on their clinical niche.

Direct service responsibilities include individual/family therapy, diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, and groups.

We consult as a team and invest in one another's clinical development.

Qualifications:

  • must be LGBT affirming
  • has a niche focus and clear ideal client or be willing to identify an ideal client population
  • provides evidence based therapy (we are still open to complementary and alternative therapies aka holistic approaches)
  • prefer trauma informed therapist
  • prefer therapist who enjoys working with children, teens, or couples
  • prefer a therapist who is credentialed with insurance but this isn't required
  • those who want to commit to the growth of the collective group
  • can work both independently and collaboratively

Therapists with training or interest in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) or The Gottman Method are especially encouraged to apply. Our practice values evidence-based, attachment-focused couples work that helps partners improve connection, communication, and intimacy.We provide consistent referrals for couples and relationship counseling within our inclusive, affirming practice community.
