This role requires a combination of culinary expertise and management skills to oversee dietary aides and coordinate meal services effectively.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations of the dietary department, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation practices.
- Plan, prepare, and evaluate menus that meet dietary guidelines and patient preferences.
- Train and mentor dietary aides on proper food handling techniques, sanitation procedures, and meal preparation.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop individualized meal plans based on patients' dietary needs.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and place orders as necessary to maintain adequate stock.
- Conduct regular inspections of the kitchen and dining areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to health standards.
- Address any dietary concerns or feedback from residents or staff promptly and professionally.
Experience
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within the hospital or food industry is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation practices, and dietary guidelines.
- Background in dietetics or culinary arts is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to manage a team effectively while fostering a positive work environment.
- Experience with food production processes and maintaining cleanliness in a kitchen setting is essential.
