Denver, Colorado, United States Aegistech Full time

Job Title: Sr BI Data Engineer (Snowflake)

What we are looking for:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior BI (Snowflake) Data Engineer to join our Denver office. This role will focus on data modeling, transformation, governance, and advanced analytics enablement within our enterprise data platform. The ideal candidate will be an expert in Snowflake with deep experience in modern data engineering practices and will play a key role in shaping our data ecosystem to support business intelligence, advanced analytics, and AI-driven insights.

The Impact:

Provides a clean, well-modeled Snowflake layer - less time wrangling data, more time delivering dashboards. Ensures data from apps flows into BI-ready structures without the BI team having to reinvent transformations. Opens the door to new-age analytics (Fabric, Cortex, AI e.t.c) that move reporting beyond traditional Power BI dashboards.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively with executive sponsors, partners, and stakeholders in the company to ensure tight collaboration and knowledge sharing across the teams.
  • Architect and optimize Snowflake data models to serve BI dashboards, analytics, and semantic layers.
  • Build reusable & cost-efficient, automated ELT/ETL pipelines for BI consumption.
  • Collaborate closely with BI developers to ensure Snowflake data structures are business-ready and efficient.
  • Research and apply new-age analytics tech (Snowflake Cortex, Microsoft Fabric, dbt, Python ML frameworks) to enhance BI outcomes.
  • Act as the Snowflake SME for BI projects — provide proofs-of-concept, best practices, and governance for BI data structures.
  • Leverage advanced Snowflake features such as Time Travel, Zero Copy Cloning, Streams, Tasks, Snowpipe, and Snowpark.
  • Hands-on experience integrating Snowflake with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Fabric, Sigma, Tableau) and workflow/orchestration platforms (e.g., Airflow, dbt, ADF).

What We're Looking For:

  • 7+ years of hands-on data engineering experience, with 3+ years in Snowflake..
  • Strong command of SQL (advanced window functions, CTEs, optimization strategies).
  • Change management experience required
  • Proven expertise in data modeling (dimensional, relational, and data vault).
  • Experience with ETL/ELT orchestration tools (dbt, Airflow, ADF, or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python preferred) for scripting and automation.
  • Familiarity with BI/Analytics ecosystems (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, communication ability, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Certification(s) in Snowflake (SnowPro Core / Advanced Architect / Data Engineer).
  • Exposure to data governance frameworks (lineage, cataloging, metadata management).
