SkyWater is partnering with an industry leading organization who's looking to hire a Sr. Electrical Controls Engineer for their team Our client is a successful small business based in the Northwest suburbs who's been consistently growing over the last few years (around 20%). This is a new role due to their growth, and the Sr. Electrical Controls Engineer will be responsible for leading the electrical design, programming, & integration of control systems across a range of complex, custom projects. We're looking for an experienced Electrical or Controls Engineer with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field), 5+ years of electrical or controls engineering experience (or combination of experience), and experience working on large custom projects. Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of custom electrical control systems for large structures.
  • Create schematics, electrical panel layouts, and system documentation.
  • Program PLCs and HMIs (Rockwell Studio 5000).
  • Support field installation and commissioning of electrical systems on projects.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned.

Desired Skills And Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in an Electrical or Controls Engineering position (or combination of positions).
  • Hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, servo systems, or motor controllers.
  • Proficient with Rockwell Studio 5000 preferred.
  • Strong communication skills (both written & verbal).
  • Ability to occasionally travel for work (about 10% - 15%).
