Position: Senior Data Engineer (1 Position)

Type: Full-Time | 1-Year Contract (with possible extension)

Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (Visa & accommodation provided)

Experience: 7+ years in Data Engineering or related fields

About the Role

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and optimizing scalable data pipelines that support enterprise data integration and analytics initiatives. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and efficient data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Informatica Data Engineering (DE).
  • Build and manage real-time streaming solutions using Apache Kafka and Confluent.
  • Develop distributed data processing applications on Cloudera using Apache Spark (Python or Scala).
  • Automate and orchestrate workflows with Apache NiFi or similar tools.
  • Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Ensure data quality, security, and governance standards are met.
  • Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and integration issues.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and code reviews.
  • Maintain documentation of designs, data flows, and operations.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and introduce best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in Informatica DE, ETL, data modeling, SQL, and Python.
  • Experience with Apache Kafka, Confluent, and Apache Spark.
  • Familiarity with Cloudera ecosystem (HDFS, Hive, Impala).
  • Proven ability to optimize performance for ETL & streaming pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Informatica certification is a plus.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Informatica Cloud, IDQ, or MDM.
  • Knowledge of SingleStore DB or other in-memory databases.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins, CI/CD).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Background in Agile methodologies.
