Position Overview
Weatherspoon Enterprises Inc., a professional security and protection services firm, is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated Sales Consultant to generate new business opportunities for both unarmed and armed security contracts. This position will focus on identifying, pursuing, and closing security service contracts in multiple sectors, including retail, commercial, residential development, colleges/universities, residential communities, automotive dealerships, housing authorities, and clients requiring cash transit/security logistics.
Position DetailsClassification:
1099 Contractor / Part-Time (Hybrid work environment)
Key Responsibilities:- Prospect, qualify, and develop leads in target markets: retail, commercial/residential developments, higher education, residential communities, automotive dealerships, housing authorities, and secure cash transit clients.
- Build and manage a pipeline of opportunities through networking, cold outreach, referrals, and targeted marketing.
- Prepare and present proposals, capability statements, bid responses, and contracts.
- In collaboration with finance team, negotiate contract terms, pricing, scope of services, and ensure profitable margins.
- Coordinate with the Administrative Division to ensure contracts, compliance, paperwork, and insurance/certification requirements are met.
- Maintain ongoing communications with prospective and existing clients to build long-term relationships.
- Collaborate with senior leadership (via CEO dotted line) to align on sales strategy, target sectors, and growth objectives.
- Attend industry / trade / networking events as needed to expand market visibility.
- Track and report sales activity, forecasts, closed deals, and market feedback.
Minimum:
- Proven sales, business development, or account management experience, ideally in security services or related service industries.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Self-starter with ability to manage time, prioritize, and handle multiple leads / tasks.
- Basic understanding of contract security operations or willingness to learn.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
Preferred:
- Experience selling to institutions such as universities, housing authorities, and property management firms.
- Knowledge of armed/unarmed security contracts or cash logistics/transit service contracts.
- Existing network of contacts in security-impacted industries.
- Some familiarity with RFP/bid processes.
Type: Contractor (1099), possible conversion or part-time employment based on performance.
Schedule: Part-time flexible hybrid schedule with remote and client-site responsibilities. Location: Primarily based in Charlotte, NC with footprint within Southeast.
