Shipping Clerk

The Shipping Clerk reports to the Merchandise Manager and will be a part-time non-exempt position. As an employee of the organization, you will be eligible to participate in several SAR-sponsored benefits including vacation, holiday pay, and ability to contribute to a company-matched retirement plan.

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for the reviewing and shipping of orders from the Chapter/State Societies and Compatriots, assisting with stocking the materials and other functions as assigned by the Merchandise Manager.

The Shipping Clerk's work must be extremely neat and accurate. They must be able to communicate politely with SAR members and SAR staff and understand and practice the principle of confidentiality. Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook is desired. Experience with the shipping software is a plus.

The Shipping Clerk must be able to perform the following duties:

· Process and review orders for shipping, also process acknowledgments and backorders.

· Visually check various items in stock and inform the Merchandise Manager in writing when an item appears low.

· Keep stock room picked up and neat in appearance.

· Assist in verifying the count on items that are received from supplier, matching to approved purchase orders.

· Assist the Merchandise Manager in taking physical inventories of stock items.

· Assist telephone and walk-in customers as the need arises.

· Must have the ability to occasionally lift boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.

· Must have the ability to constantly move around storeroom to pull merchandise off shelving and process shipments.

· Other duties as assigned by the Merchandise Manager.

Pay: $ $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 25.0 per week
