Job Summary:

A reliable and experienced Driver to join our team. we are a church and need a Driver, who will be responsible for safely transporting our members and sometimes goods to various locations. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and also under supervision.

Duties:

The bus driver will be responsible for operating the buses (van and minibus) and transporting passengers safely and efficiently. The driver adheres to traffic laws, maintains a schedule, and provides passengers with a comfortable and secure environment. They must perform pre-trip inspections to check the bus's mechanical condition, including brakes, tires, lights, and general upkeep of the vehicles. Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the bus. Must be physically able to enter and leave the van frequently and quickly to help riders. Bending, and lifting may be required. They also need to be aware of the surrounding traffic, road conditions, and potential hazards to ensure the safety of passengers and other road users.

Qualifications:

  1. Possession of a valid and appropriate North Carolina Driver's license.

  2. Must consent to and pass a background check.

  3. Knowledge of safe driving practices.

  4. Ability to read and write at a level necessary to perform the required duties successfully.

  5. Ability to drive a van or minibus safely and efficiently.

  6. Ability to exercise sound judgment and extreme caution while driving.

  7. Ability to meet the physical requirements necessary to perform required duties safely and effectively.

  8. Minimum of two years of driving experience with an acceptable record (does not have to be a bus).

  9. No addiction to the use of intoxicating liquor or narcotic drugs.

  10. Drinking or smoking while driving is prohibited.

  11. Complete a pre-employment drug test.

  12. Mental and emotional stability, which ensures normal driving competency and efficiency.

  13. Good moral character, appearance and personality.

  14. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $15.00 per hour
