Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Strategic Initiatives Manager to support senior leadership in driving key business priorities, communications, and organizational initiatives.

This individual will play a critical role in ensuring that strategic objectives are executed effectively and that leadership meetings, presentations, and communications reflect the network's priorities and vision.

  • Act as a liaison between leadership, direct reports, and key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Prepare and brief executives ahead of high-stakes meetings, including biweekly leadership sessions and major stakeholder engagements.
  • Develop meaningful and thoughtful meeting agendas and ensure all post-meeting follow-ups and deliverables are tracked, completed, and communicated.

Presentation Development & Strategic Storytelling

  • Synthesize complex data and qualitative insights into clear, persuasive narratives that reflect leadership priorities.
  • Leverage tools such as PowerPoint, Keynote, and Canva to produce polished, executive-ready materials.
  • Provide insights and strategic framing - not just design - by distilling trends, identifying key takeaways, and highlighting opportunities or risks.

Writing & Communication

  • Collaborate closely with the leadership team to ensure tone, messaging, and positioning are consistent and impactful.
  • Ensure all written and visual materials meet the highest standards of clarity, professionalism, and effectiveness.

Project & Event Management

  • Manage cross-functional projects and initiatives from concept to completion, ensuring progress against milestones and accountability for outcomes.
  • Organize and execute events and presentations where senior leaders play a key role, including internal leadership meetings, external speaking engagements, and network-wide activations.
  • Track follow-up items and drive timely completion across stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in strategy, consulting, operations, executive support, or a similar fast-paced, high-impact role.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills, with the ability to represent leadership perspective and intent.
  • Proven experience creating and delivering executive-level presentations and insights.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to connect data to strategy and articulate clear recommendations.
  • Highly organized with excellent project management capabilities and attention to detail.
  • Polished executive presence with the ability to interface confidently with senior leaders.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, high-pressure news environment, including long or non-traditional hours as needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and presentation platforms such as Canva or Google Slides.
  • Ability to work non-traditional work hours and weekends. Some out-of-state travel maybe required.
  • Unrestricted eligibility to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or graduate degree in business, communications, or public policy.
  • Experience supporting or advising C-suite executives.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with flawless execution.
  • Background in media, journalism, or related corporate environments.
  • Strong familiarity with media, communications, or political environments; experience in both corporate and D.C. settings preferred.
