Company Overview - Concrete Construction

At HC Concrete Construction Group, we specialize in self-perform vertical concrete work across the Southeast and Midwest, with a focus on mid-rise and high-rise multifamily, commercial, hotel, and industrial projects. We are committed to delivering safe, high-quality concrete construction while building a team-first culture that values trust, ownership, and continuous improvement. As we grow, we are investing in people and systems that reflect our core belief: the best projects are built by teams who care deeply about how they work and who they work with.

Site Safety Officer Position Summary

HC Concrete Construction Group is seeking a Site Safety Officer to support and strengthen our safety culture from the ground up. This is a field-first leadership role, focused on daily job site engagement, crew empowerment, and proactive risk management—particularly in self-perform vertical concrete construction.

This position is not about strict enforcement—it's about influence, accountability, and partnership. The ideal candidate will take pride in creating a culture where safety is owned by the field, not simply monitored. This role plays a key part in strengthening the connection between field and office, improving jobsite performance, and supporting every crew member's ability to work safe and smart.

Site Safety Officer Key Responsibilities

Field Safety Presence & Safety Culture

  • Be a visible, approachable safety leader on all active job sites—building trust with crews, foremen, and superintendents.
  • Conduct and document job site safety inspections and audits, particularly related to elevated concrete work.
  • Assist superintendents and foremen in completing and reviewing Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
  • Inventory, track, and restock safety items onsite; distribute safety gear to team members as needed.
  • Oversee day-to-day site safety and actively correct or escalate issues in partnership with field leadership.
  • Maintain strong relationships with general contractors and site representatives, representing HC professionally during all safety-related coordination.
  • Perform various field safety support duties as assigned—adapting to jobsite needs and helping ensure safe and productive operations.
  • Support a culture where every crew member is an extension of the safety team, not just a subject of enforcement.

Safety Training, Reporting & Communication

  • Lead daily and weekly safety reporting, toolbox talks, and follow-up observations using company tools and templates.
  • Respond to safety incidents with professionalism, tact, and a solutions-oriented approach.
  • Assist in bilingual (English/Spanish) communication, orientations, and onsite safety meetings.
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation, inspection reports, photos, and logs to support the Safety Director and project teams.
  • Travel to active sites throughout the region as needed.

Site Safety Officer Key Qualifications

  • OSHA 30 Certification required
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, especially those related to concrete construction and elevated work environments
  • Field experience in commercial construction required; elevated concrete knowledge strongly preferred
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with high emotional intelligence (EQ) and strong communication instincts
  • Detail-oriented and able to document safety activities clearly and professionally
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and safety inspection/reporting systems
  • Comfortable working outdoors and navigating active construction sites
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
  • Additional safety certifications (e.g., CPR/First Aid, CHST) are a plus

What Success Looks Like for the Site Safety Officer

  • Crews view safety as their responsibility—not just yours.
  • You help build a bridge between field and office through trust, presence, and clear communication.
  • Job sites are safer, teams are more engaged, and incidents are reduced—not through fear, but ownership.
  • You're respected for handling issues with grace, and teams want you on-site.
