  Bergmann is looking for an Office Engineer with great communication skills and an interest in inspection who enjoys working outdoors with others to join our team in New York

What You'll Do: Oversee and coordinate documentation of construction inspection including pay estimates, change orders, daily work reports, quantity checking, meeting minutes, material certifications, etc.  

Who We're Looking For: The ideal candidate must enjoy working with teams, be able and willing to work outdoors on a project site for extended periods of time, and have great communication skills. Attention to detail is a must for this position All candidates must have a valid Driver's License and a minimum of 5 years' experience with Transportation Construction Management and Construction Site Manager . NICET III or NICET IV Certification (or 10+ years of relevant experience) is required. While an Associates degree in Civil Technology, Construction, or another related field is preferred, it is not required.  

Prior expertise in federally-aided, transportation projects as a Office Engineer or Construction Inspector an experience with contractors for highway, traffic signal and pavement installation for NYSDOT or locally-administered projects is helpful in this role.  Experience working with/for clients like NYSDOT and/or Municipal clients and a technical knowledge of general and highway construction is required.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:  

· Strong communication skills 

· High attention to detail 

· Comfortable with using computers and adapting to softwares

· Experience working with DOT or Local Agency experience is a must 

· Team player who enjoys working collaboratively with others 

· Strong mathematics skills 

· Ability to work outdoors, on job sites, for extended periods of time 

· Appia and/or CEES Experience

· Familiarity with NYSDOT's Manual of Uniform Record Keeping (MURK)

The Office Engineer Also:  

· Responsible for the construction inspection of bridge and/or highway construction projects including measuring and calculating quantities and documenting work with daily work reports, photos, and sketches

· Oversee and coordinate documentation of construction inspection including pay estimates, change orders, daily work reports, quantity checking, meeting minutes, material certifications, etc.  

· Insures work is completed in accordance with NYSDOT specifications  

· Apply project plans, along with company policies, guidelines, standards, specifications to the work and make decisions.  

· Maintain project documentation and communicate with individuals at all levels of the project

· Coordinate activities on the project site and resolve problems related to the work.  

· Calculate volumes and weights of materials

All other duties as assigned. We won't ask you to do things way outside your scope, but we are one #TeamBergmann, so "Not my job" is not an option
