Description

We are looking for a Manager of Software Development to build massively scalable, highly available virtual networking services that connect customer resources in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to internal and external networks and services. Few examples of our services are Internet Gateway (IGW), NAT Gateway (NGW), and Dynamic Routing Gateway (DRG).

As a Manager of Software Development, you will shape strategic vision, define roadmap and priorities, and oversee the development of new networking features and horizontal scaling the service. You will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing, and scaling of software applications in networking domain. You will build and lead a geographically distributed team of engineers of all levels, provide direction and mentorship, set priorities and ensure successful delivery by your team.

Responsibilities

As a Manager of Software Development, you are expected to have:

* You have strong technical depth and architectural know-how in networking domain.
* You can provide leadership, technical direction and strategy, and audit design decisions for a team of talented engineers. 
* You can coach, mentor, and develop best talent, and lead geographically distributed team.
* You can engage in hands-on management, including addressing customer issues and managing escalations.
* You can develop a prioritized roadmap of products, features and engineering asks, and work closely with a variety of stakeholders including executive leaderships and architects for strategy priority and  direction alignment.
* You are good at driving the delivery of roadmap commitments on time with high quality.

Qualifications:

   * BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area
   * 1+ years of experience leading a team of engineers with a proven track record in managing large-scale critical service
   * Demonstrated expertise in project management, dealing with competing priorities and able to manage multiple projects
   * Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear, concise manner to all audiences
   * Strong understanding of IaaS concepts, distributed systems, high availability and horizontally scalability
   * Knowledge of software engineering best practices, source control, build, testing processes, automation, and operations
   * Working knowledge of network virtualization, network protocols and distributed systems
   * Proficient at programming in C, Go, and Python

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $109,200 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
