Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and energetic After School Teacher to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children after school hours. In this role, you will facilitate educational activities, supervise children, and promote positive behavior while supporting their social and emotional development. Your enthusiasm and dedication will inspire children to explore, learn, and grow beyond the classroom, making each afternoon a fun-filled opportunity for discovery.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise children during after school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities, including tutoring sessions, arts and crafts, sports, and theater projects
  • Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement and effective behavior management strategies
  • Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance by adapting activities accordingly
  • Maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns
  • Ensure the environment is clean, organized, and conducive to learning and play
  • Administer basic first aid when necessary and follow health protocols to prevent illness or injury

Requirements

  • Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or childcare is highly preferred
  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster a respectful and inclusive atmosphere
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices
  • Certifications in first aid and CPR are required; additional training in special education or behavior management is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with parents, colleagues, and children effectively
  • Ability to engage children through creative activities like theater, sports coaching, or arts-based projects
  • A genuine passion for nurturing children's growth and supporting their social-emotional needs
  • Must be willing to get a chauffer's license and drive our 15 passenger vans to pick up children from school.
